Banco Mercantil de Investimentos S.A. (BMI) is a publicly traded financial institution, controlled by Banco Mercantil do Brasil S.A., with authorized investment, credit, financing and real estate portfolios. The company's main strategy is focused on carrying out credit operations, with a particular focus on the assignment of credits. In addition, BMI manages investment funds. The bank also transacts securities, mainly fixed income, structured derivative transactions, and foreign exchange transactions. Its main sources of raising funds to finance active operations are time deposits and funds raised in the open market.
