Braskem is the largest thermoplastic resin producer in the Americas and a world leader in biopolymers, working in the chemical and petrochemical industries. The company's core business is the production and sale of a wide product portfolio, including basic chemicals and resins such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and PVC. A strategic asset is its leadership in producing “green” polyethylene, a biopolymer made from sugarcane ethanol, a renewable source. Braskem has a global industrial presence, with production units located in Brazil, the United States, Mexico and Germany. Its operations are geographically segmented into three main divisions: Brazil/South America, US/Europe, and Mexico.
