Companhia de Eletridade do Estado da Bahia (Coelba) is a Brazilian electric company, controlled by Neoenergia, and acts as the largest energy distributor in the Northeast in terms of volume of energy distributed and number of customers. Its main activity is the distribution of electricity, operating exclusively in its concession area that covers all municipalities in the state of Bahia. Coelba's business model is based on electricity sector regulation, with rates set by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), and its investments are aimed at expanding, operating and maintaining the distribution network. As part of the Neoenergia group, Coelba is part of a broader strategy that also includes the energy generation, transmission and sale segments.
