Copel (Companhia Paranaense de Energia) is an integrated company operating in the electric power sector in Brazil. Its main activities are organized in the Generation and Transmission (GET), Distribution (DIS) and Marketing (COM) segments. In the Generation segment, the company operates hydro, wind and thermal power plants. The company also builds, operates, and maintains a network of transmission lines and substations for transporting high-voltage energy. Through its distributor, Copel serves more than 5 million consumers, mainly in the state of Paraná. Additionally, the company sells energy in the free market and holds stakes in other projects in the sector.
