TIM SA is one of the three largest wireless carriers in Brazil, with 52 million subscribers, about 20% of the market. TIM has some fixed telephone assets, an extensive long fiber network and local networks that reach about 6.7 million locations (just under 10% of the country). The company is investing to expand its fiber network, including through its minority interest in an infrastructure partnership. TIM rents capacity in the project's network to serve retail clients. The company is 67% owned by Telecom Italia.
